Growing Green Things

Although I don't have a big garden this year I still felt the urge to dig in the dirt, plant seeds, and watch things grow. So I'm trying my hand at a little container gardening. 

So, I planted mint, tomatoes,  a few herbs, squash and a pepper plant . . . 

. . . and added some flowers for color on my front porch.

And when I went to check on my plants this evening I found a big black something I don't remember planting.
